A lot of "Absinthes" are available in the European market and worldwide. Very few resemble the original although there is no technical reason that prevents it. Like wine or brandy making Absinthe making is an art, but many producers obviously sacrifice their art and artisanal expertise in exchange for a larger profit. Also the current market is littered with many faux Absinthes and bad marketing propaganda that it is difficult to obtain a good point of reference in judging the current commercial products. The goal of the Blackmint Distillery was to give connoisseurs worldwide the ultimate point of reference with respect to what a quality Absinthe Origin Swiss Jura was during the "Belle Epoque"..
